How did it go?

Q My daughter and her friend did the silent jigsaw puzzle – but finished up having the mother of all arguments and were really mean to each other. My daughter says that not being able to talk was awful, and that her friend was doing it all wrong and she just couldn’t bear it. Where did we go wrong?

A Oh, no! It’s vital to have some patience when doing silent jigsaws. It won’t be as fast as usual but if you keep in mind that the goal is communication, rather than completion, they ought to be able to relax and have fun with it.

Q We like the idea of the loo roll game but are trying to be green in our school and this seems rather wasteful. Any suggestions?

A I agree; it isn’t the greenest of games, but perhaps you might be persuaded to try it with recycled loo roll? And it could always be collected up, even in pieces, and returned to the loos afterwards.
